I recently wrote a series of blog posts about using Twitter which you might find useful, especially <a href="http://www.janetbarclay.com/2009/02/23/twitter-basics-what-should-i-tweet-about/" rel="nofollow">Twitter Basics: What Should I Tweet About?</a>

What's been really helpful to me is noticing what other people are tweeting about and the types of tweets that I find most valuable and interesting, and trying to do similar things (the Golden Rule, as applied to Twitter). Since then, I've really started to see benefits from using Twitter.
